Weapons seized from healer’s home

ALOR GAJAH: Police confiscated 79 sharp weapons during a raid at a traditional treatment centre in Masjid Tanah here.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the weapons, including keris and swords, were seized on Oct 24 at the home of a traditional healer popularly known as Tabib Adam M. Isa.

“The man was not present during the raid. His 22-year-old son was detained and later released on police bail,” Supt Ashari said in a statement yesterday.

On Oct 25, it was reported that the state Religious Department was on the hunt for Tabib Adam to assist in investigations allegedly relating to medical practices and activities that deviate from Islamic teachings.
