Pahang royal wedding's henna ceremony filled with tradition and colour

KUANTAN: The henna ceremony (majlis berinai) for the Royal Wedding between Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Natasya Puteri Tengku Adnan took place with great tradition at Balai Temenggong, Istana Abdulaziz, in Kuantan on Friday evening of Oct 25.

The ceremony began with the bride, Tengku Natasya, being escorted to Balai Mahkota at 8.20pm where Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, graced the event by applying the inai to the bride’s palms as a symbolic gesture marking the start of the ceremony.

As part of the tradition, 16 attendants lit candles, with each one being ignited as Tengku Muhammad entered Balai Temenggong, creating a symbolic and traditional royal atmosphere.

The Royal Wedding celebrations will continue this Sunday with the Majlis Persandingan (royal wedding reception), which is scheduled to take place at Istana Abdulaziz.
