Teenage girl dies in house fire


PETALING JAYA: A 17-year-old girl was found dead in a house fire in Saujana Impian on Thursday (Oct 17).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the department received a call about the fire at approximately 4.20pm, and a team from the Kajang Fire and Rescue Station was rushed to the location.

Ahmad Mukhlis said the fire was extinguished with the help of firefighters from the Bangi and Seri Kembangan stations.

“The victim, a 17-year-old girl, was found burnt on the upper floor,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Ahmad Mukhlis added that the girl was alone at home at the time.

The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Qistina Noorul Azman.
