Thunderstorms expected in 11 states until 11am today, MetMalaysia warns


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings for eleven states and federal territories until 11am on Tuesday (Oct 15).

In a statement Tuesday morning, MetMalaysia forecast that bad weather conditions will affect Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Sarawak.

In Peninsular Malaysia, the areas affected are Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian and Johor Baru), Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda and Bandar Baharu), and Negri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau).

Thunderstorms are also expected over the whole of Perlis, Penang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Meanwhile, MetMalaysia also aid that the areas affected in Sarawak are Bintulu (Bintulu) and Miri (Subis).
