MetMalaysia: Thunderstorms expected in north Peninsular, Sabah, Sarawak


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms have been forecasted to occur in northern and east coast states of the peninsula up to 1am on Wednesday (Oct 16), according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

The affected states are Penang, Kedah, Penang, parts of Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar and Batang Padang) and Pahang (Cameron Highlands and Lipis).

Kelantan has also been forecasted to experience thunderstorms up to 1am on Wednesday, with parts of Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Dungun) forecasted to experience similar weather.

Thunderstorm warnings were also issued for parts of Sarawak (Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Kapit).

Nabawan, Tongod, Telupid and Sandakan in Sabah were also issued thunderstorm warnings.
