Thunderstorms, strong winds expected in several states, says MetMalaysia


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over the states of Kedah (Langkawi), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang, Selama and Manjung), says the Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

Other states affected were Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Jerantut, Bentong and Rompin), Selangor (Klang, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat), Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban and Kuala Pilah).

Also affected are Johor and Sabah (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Nabawan), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud).

MetMalaysia said Tawau and Lahad Datu, Sandakan (Tongod, Kinabatangan and Sandakan) and in Kota Marudu and Kudat.

"The forecast is until 4pm Saturday (Oct 12)," added MetMalaysia in a statement.
