Partying policemen nabbed, test positive for drugs in Cheras club raid


KUALA LUMPUR: A police station chief and two other police personnel were among 14 detained while partying at an entertainment outlet in Taman Dutamas, Cheras,

The policemen aged 37 and 57 were attached to the Kajang district police headquarters.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the raid was conducted early Saturday (Sept 5) morning,

"Checks revealed that all 14 individuals, including the three policemen, tested positive for drugs," he said when contacted on Sunday (Oct 6)

He said the three policemen and 11 others have been remanded for further investigation.

"All three police personnel have been transferred to the Selangor management department while waiting for the investigation to be completed.

"We will also conduct a disciplinary investigation," he said.

Comm Hussein said police officers and personnel are prohibited from patronising entertainment outlets except for carrying out their duties based on orders.

"Stern action including criminal prosecution will be taken against any officers or personnel who disregard orders, including for drug abuse," he said.
