Storm warning: Heavy rain, strong winds expected in various areas until 8pm, says MetMalaysia


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds are expected in various areas, including Selangor, Penang and Johor, on Friday (Sept 27).

In a warning issued by the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), it said the thunderstorms are expected to last until 8pm Friday.

The areas affected are Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang (North Seberang Prai, Central Seberang Prai and South Seberang Prai), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar and Kinta) and Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang).

Also affected the entire state of Terengganu, Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut and Bentong), Selangor (Hulu Selangor and Gombak), Johor (Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Kluang), and Sarawak (Miri and Marudi, and Limbang (Lawas).
