IPOH: Two people on a motorcycle sustained severe injuries, while another two passengers inside a car suffered light injuries after a tree fell on their vehicles at Jalan Kamunting near Taiping.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said three others who were also inside the car escaped unhurt during the incident that occurred at 12.53pm Wednesday (Sept 18) at Taman Glen View.

“The tree fell on a car that had five women aged between 16 and 35-years-old, and the two who sustained severe injuries are father and daughter on a motorcycle.

“The 40-year-old man and his 15-year-old daughter are seriously injured, unconscious, and have been sent to the nearest hospital for treatment,” he added.

He said the other victims who sustained injuries were given initial treatment before sending them to the hospital.

Sabarodzi added that firemen have chopped the branches of the tree to ensure the road is totally safe.
