Man, 53, hurt in shop fire near Jenjarom


PETALING JAYA: A 53-year-old man was injured in a fire at a two-storey shop in Taman Rambai Indah near Jenjarom.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the incident occurred at about 5.15am on Saturday (Sept 14).

"Twelve firemen from the Banting and Teluk Panglima Garang stations were dispatched to the scene.

"The shop was 70% destroyed but we managed to rescue the man, who was injured," he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 15).

The victim was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, he added.
