PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians seeking any form of government aid can now submit their applications via the new centralised Ihsan Madani portal launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The portal has eight clusters namely health, food, income, education, transportation, housing, utility and general aid, offering 144 initiatives by 19 different ministries.

The platform initiated by the unity government under the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) is a one-stop resource for information on the assistance available and support programmes offered to eligible Malaysians.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the government is carrying out various initiatives to ease the cost of living and the portal, which was created and managed by the National Cost of Living Action Council (NACCOL), would facilitate access to those who qualify for financial aid.

“In view of the various efforts taken to address the cost of living, the agenda carried out by the Madani government today is in line with the desired aspirations and hopes,” he said during the launch at Putrajaya International Convention Centre, which was officiated by Anwar.

Under health, there are seven initiatives such as the Peduli Sihat Scheme (PEKA) for the B40 group, aid for the disabled and abandoned patients (BPT) and dental health for targeted groups.

Eight initiatives are offered under the food cluster and among them are Rahmah Madani sales programme, cooking oil stabilisation scheme (COSS) and the secondary school food aid.

For housing, there are six initiatives such as housing for the hardcore poor, fisherman’s special housing projects and Madani Residency programme.

Under the utility category, among the five programmes offered are the RM40 electricity bill rebate, sewage bill rebate and implementation of targeted electricity subsidy.

The aid for transport has 19 initiatives and among them are the RON 95 petrol subsidy, various diesel subsidies and subsidised air travel to Sabah and Sarawak during festive seasons.

For aid under the income category, there are 39 initiatives which include Rahmah cash aid for households, aid for singles and senior citizens as well as cash aid for disabled persons.

The education category has 42 initiatives and among them are various scholarships, higher education funding for servicemen, pre-school allowance and free tuition.

Those applying for specific aid would be required to provide their particulars upon accessing the link provided by the portal.

The ministry also assured users that their personal particulars would not be shared with any third party and are not stored in any data portal but is merely sought to ascertain the aid an applicant qualifies for.

The portal, which is accessible online, also has a smartphone app which can be downloaded from Google PlayStore, Apple AppStore and Huawei AppGallery.
