SUNGAI SIPUT: A teenage boy has been remanded for a week starting Monday (Aug 19) to assist in the investigation into the murder of 10-year-old Nuraina Humaira Rosli, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

The remand order for the 17-year-old was issued by Magistrate Nurul Asyifa Redzuan to investigate the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The suspect arrived at the Sungai Siput Magistrate’s Court at around 8:30am, accompanied by police officers.

Sinar Harian also reported that with the findings, the police do not rule out the possibility that the victim was raped before being murdered.

The body of the Year Four student from SK Pos Kuala Mu was found at around 4:20pm on Saturday (Aug 17) following a search operation launched after she was reported missing on Friday (Aug 16).

The victim was discovered lying in a swampy area in the Orang Asli village of Kampung Bersah, Pos Kuala Mu.
