Melaka local authority employee claims trial to graft charges


MELAKA: A Melaka City Council (MBMB) employee pleaded not guilty at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court here on Wednesday (July 24) to two charges of receiving bribes totalling RM2,700 from an advertising contractor in Melaka in 2021 and last year.

According to the charges, Muhammad Firdaus Ab Aziz, 41, who is an assistant administrative officer at MBMB (Competency), is accused of receiving RM2,200 and RM500 in cash from Syarikat Pusat Pengiklanan Prisma manager Ong Ah Siong for supply work offered by the local authority (PBT).
