Fatal car crash claims life of 51-year-old man in Batu Pahat


BATU PAHAT: A 51-year-old man was killed after his car crashed into an electric pole at Jalan Mohd Akil, here.

Batu Pahat acting OCPD Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the incident occurred at 7.30am on Monday (July 22) when the victim was heading towards Jalan Syahbandar from Jalan Bakau Chondong.

“The driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the electric pole at the side of the road.

“The victim is identified as Chung Woon Kim; he was later pronounced dead at the location due to serious internal injuries,” he said in a statement here on Monday.

Supt Shahrulanuar added that those who have information on the incident are encouraged to come to any nearest police station or call the Johor Police Hotline at 07-2212999 or the Batu Pahat District Police Hotline at 07-4343999.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987.
