HRD Corp docs to be scrutinised

PETALING JAYA: Documents linked to the audit report on Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) will be studied for elements of corruption, says the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

It said the documents were handed over to the MACC by Human Resources Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud at 11.30am yesterday.

“The MACC will study the documents to determine (if there are) any elements of graft, misappropriation or abuse of power under the MACC Act 2009.”

The MACC also said it would scrutinise the documents to check for any weaknesses in governance. The report was submitted following the tabling of the Auditor-General and Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) reports in Parliament on Thursday.

Suspicious real estate deals and high-risk investments were some of the issues identified by the PAC.
