Sg Bakap polls: Rain forecast on morning of polling day


NIBONG TEBAL: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast rain in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon in Sungai Bakap on polling day for the state by-election on Saturday (July 6).

In a Facebook post on Friday (July 5), it said the weather will clear up in the evening.

Voters can obtain fast and accurate weather information by following MetMalaysia’s official social media channels and website at www.met.gov.my, or through the MyCuaca app available on Google Play and the App Store, it added.

Voting for the Penang state sezat will take place from 8am to 6pm at nine polling centres involving 65 streams.

The by-election will see a straight fight between Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr Joohari Ariffin and Nibong Tebal PAS vice-chief Abidin Ismail representing Perikatan Nasional.

It was called following the death of incumbent Nor Zamri Latiff of PAS on May 24 due to stomach inflammation. – Bernama
