Zayn Rayyan’s mum taken back to alleged crime scene


PETALING JAYA: The mother of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, who was murdered in December last year, was brought to her home at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai, supposedly for a reenactment.

Zayn Rayyan’s parents are currently on a six-day remand extension to assist with investigations.

The visit is believed to be for the purpose of reenacting the circumstances surrounding Zayn Rayyan’s disappearance until his body was found on Dec 6.

The couple were initially remanded for seven days from June 1 to assist with the police investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

They were arrested in Puncak Alam on May 31.

On Dec 5, six-year-old Zayn Rayyan, who had autism, was reported missing in Damansara Damai. His body was found near a stream about 200m from his home at the Idaman Apartment complex the next day.

A post-mortem revealed injuries to his neck and body, leading to the conclusion that he had been killed.

Bernama reported that a van ferried the victim’s mother to her residence in Blok R at 10.15am yesterday and left at about 12.20pm.

She was taken back to the residence and the location where the child was found, which is a river drainage located approximately 200m from the residential block where the family lived.

Police officers were also seen carrying a child-sized doll.

As early as 10am, a police team set up two roadblocks leading to Blok R of the apartment complex and the media was instructed to stay in a hut, while the movement of every resident was accompanied by police officers.

A vehicle carrying Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain was also seen entering the residential area with an investigation team from the CID and the Selangor contingent police headquarters, as well as investigative officers from the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters.

At about 2.30pm, several police and forensic vehicles were seen leaving the residential area and yellow tape was placed at the entrance to the scene.
