KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday yesterday.
Anwar said on behalf of the government, he prayed that the King, Queen and the entire Royal Family remain blessed with good health, prosperity and sovereignty.
“May His Majesty remain steadfast in ruling fairly and equitably as the country’s head of state and guardian of Islam as well as a symbol of unity and well-being of all races in the country,” he said in a Facebook post, Bernama reported.
“The people and I will continue to obey and remain loyal to the constitutional monarchy institution. Dirgahayu Tuanku!” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he and his family pray that Sultan Ibrahim reigns with full sovereignty and long life.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said he prays that His Majesty will continue to reign on the throne with greatness, sovereignty and prosperity as well as rule with justice and equity.
“We, all Malaysians, pray that His Majesty the King will always be blessed,” he said.
MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong also extended his heartfelt wishes to Sultan Ibrahim in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday.
“Daulat Tuanku and congratulations to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” said Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, on Facebook.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil also expressed his congratulations to Sultan Ibrahim.
“Thank you from me, the people and the Communications Ministry as well as the Office of the Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament. Long live the King,” he said.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said she prays that the King would always be in Allah’s care and mercy.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said she prays that Allah would bless His Majesty’s government.
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said he prays that Allah bestows long-lasting health and prosperity on Their Majesties, and the entire Royal Family.
From the Opposition Perikatan Nasional coalition, its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin led its leaders in congratulating Sultan Ibrahim.
Other Perikatan leaders included Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, Perlis Mentri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli and Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nassuruddin Daud.
Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said on behalf of the state government, he prays that Allah bestows His Majesty with long life and blesses His Majesty’s government.
