Three killed, six injured in two-car accident near Taiping


IPOH: Three people died and six others were injured in an accident involving two cars along KM262.5 of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) near Changkat Jering in Taiping.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations commander Ahmad Nizam Abdul Manaf said the department received a distress call at about 11.11pm on Friday (May 24).

The incident occurred at the north-bound lane of the expressway heading towards Changkat Jering from Sabak Bernam.

He said three people died at the site of the accident and added that the injured were sent to a nearby hospital.

“In one of the cars there were five people, two adults and three children.

Both the adults died at the scene, and the three children were injured.

“In the other car, there were four passengers; two adults, and two children.

The adult female passenger died, and another adult female and two children sustained injuries,” he added.
