Sabah media personnel on five-day Indonesia familiarisation trip

KOTA KINABALU: Media personnel and content creators from Sabah are on a five-day familiarisation trip to Jakarta and Bandung in Indonesia

A group of four journalists from Star Media Group, Daily Express, The Borneo Post and Utusan Borneo as well as three content creators left the Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Thursday (May 23) night and are scheduled to return on Tuesday (May 28).

They were brought to the National Monument, National Gallery, Jakarta Cathedral, JIExpo Kemayoran and Java Jazz Festival on Friday (May 24).

They will visit old Batavia, several museums and buildings famed for their architecture, Jakarta Chinatown and shopping destinations for local products among other places of interest on the following day.

On Sunday (May 26), the group are expected to go on an arts and cultural exploration at Ganara Art Poetry House, Seaside Escape at Land’s End, PIK West Jakarta, and the Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara Museum.

Monday (May 27) will be a day-trip to Bandung on the Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway, where media personnel and content creators will go sightseeing, shopping and be taken on cultural appreciation visits and other activities.

This event is organised by AirAsia and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia with the sponsorship of various parties such as Aryaduta Suites Semanggiand Dama Kara.
