Police:Burglary at footballer’s home an isolated case

SHAH ALAM: Police have ruled out any connection between the burglary of Selangor centre-back Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee’s home and previous attacks on other footballers.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the burglary of the 31-year-old footballer’s home on Wednesday was a house break-in and not related to the other cases.

“Initial investigation showed that two suspects had gone to the house in a white MPV.

“They stole four designer bags. One of them stole the victim’s motorcycle while the other drove away in the MPV. The victim and his family members were not home at that time,” he said.

The losses amounted to about RM15,000, he added.

ACP Mohd Iqbal said police were working hard to track down and detain the suspects as quickly as possible.

“We urge those with information to contact investigating officer Insp Laymand Rayne at 014-690 7071,” he said.

Previously, national winger Faisal Halim, also known as Mickey, suffered an acid attack on May 5 at a shopping mall in Kota Damansara.

The reason behind the attack is uncertain.

Just days before the attack, his Harimau Malaya teammate Akhyar Rashid was robbed in Kuala Terengganu and suffered cuts and bruises.

On the night of May 7, former national captain Safiq Rahim escaped unhurt after two men broke his car’s rear windscreen in Johor Baru.

The 36-year-old, who plays for Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim, revealed the incident on his social media account by posting his police report.

Police released a photofit of the suspect on May 19.
