Robber who slashed moneylender in Kudat nabbed


KOTA KINABALU: A man who slashed a moneylender during a robbery was nabbed by police within 10 hours of committing the crime in Sabah's northern Kudat district.

The victim, a foreigner in his 30s, is receiving treatment at the district hospital.

Kudat police chief Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the victim's wife informed them of the robbery in Pekan Baru at 6.55am on Tuesday (May 21).

He said police who responded to the call found the victim with serious injuries at the scene.

"A manhunt was launched immediately and the suspect was arrested on Jalan Sikuati Lama, Sungai Karang at 4.30pm," he said.

Supt Mohd Haris added further investigations were being carried out under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing a robbery.
