JB senior citizen dies in freak accident after car reverses into her

JOHOR BARU: A senior citizen died in a freak accident at her house in Jalan Cekor Manis, Taman Amar, on Thursday (May 16).

The Johor Fire Rescue Department Operation Centre (PGO) said it received an emergency call on the incident at 10.01am.

Tebrau Fire and Rescue station chief Shamsol Komari Bakar said five firemen with a Fire Rapid Tender (FRT) vehicle were deployed to the scene.

“The victim was killed after her car reversed by itself while she was opening the house gate,’’ he said in a statement.

Shamsol said the deceased was found between the car and the wall of the house.

He said the 67-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the spot by the paramedic team from the Health Ministry who was at the scene.

“The victim’s body was handed over to police for further action,’’ said Shamsol.

He said the operation involving five firemen from the Tebrau Fire station led by senior officer II Kup Hadi Mohamad ended at about 11.04am.
