Cops probe viral post of motorcyclist hurt by thread on highway

AMPANG: Police have been alerted after a picture of a motorcyclist who allegedly suffered a gash to his chin after riding into a piece of thread which spanned across the road along the Sungai Besi -Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said they detected a post on social media where an individual claimed to have suffered injuries to his face due to the incident at around 6.30pm on Monday (May 13).

"The incident allegedly occurred along the SUKE just after the Taman Kosas exit heading toward the Bukit Teratai Toll Plaza.

"We have yet to receive any police report on the incident so far," he said in a statement on Tuesday (May 14).

He urged the victim to come forward to any police station near him and lodge a report on the incident.

"We also urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and help with investigations at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters.

"We will also conduct an investigation and hold meetings with the highway operator on further action," he said.

ACP Mohd Azam urged the public to refrain from speculating on the case and allow police to investigate.
