KKB polls: Perikatan candidate keeping mum on loan shark debt allegation

HULU SELANGOR: Perikatan Nasional candidate Khairul Azhari Saut deflected questions about allegations that he owed money to loan sharks ahead of the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

"That's a personal matter. I prefer to concentrate on the by-election and the issues that affect our community," he said to reporters during a walkabout in Kerling.

Members of the media were limited to just a few minutes of quick questions by Khairul's entourage including Perikatan Youth information chief Khairul Nadzir Helmi Azhar who informed the press that there would be no formal press conference.

On Thursday (May 2), it was reported that a post on X (formerly Twitter) had alleged that Khairul owed almost RM40,000 to loan sharks and went on to question his suitability as a candidate.
