LOCAL singer Adira Suhaimi has officially divorced her husband Datuk Seri Adnan Abu after almost a decade together, reported Berita Harian.

Adnan, better known as Datuk Red, pronounced talak (divorce proclamation) at the Gombak Barat Syariah lower court in Rawang.

“That I, Adnan Abu, hereby divorce Adira Suhaimi with a single talak,” he said.

The case was heard before Syariah Judge Abdul Hadi Omar who confirmed that the statement was valid according to syariah law.

The couple agreed not to demand alimony and shook hands in the courtroom before leaving separate ways.

Earlier, the 46-year-old businessman was reported to have begged his second wife Adira and first wife Datin Seri Sharifah Norshafila Hassim for a second chance after both filed for divorce last year.

Adnan had married Adira in 2015 and had four children together while Adnan’s marriage with Sharifah has produced five children.

> For over six years, water supply issues have continued to plague the lives of residents of Mukim 5 in south Seberang Perai in Penang, reported Sinar Harian.Thousands of residents said the issue has continued since 2018, despite various efforts by the Penang Water Supply Corporation to fix the problem over the years.

Residents have expressed their disappointment at the water service operator for failing to admit weakness and inefficiency in managing the crisis.

They claimed that the operator had also failed to provide reasonable answers to the water supply problem involving 12 residential areas including several villages in Mukim 5.

Taman Seruling Emas resident Nor Hidayah Ruze, 54, said although hundreds of complaints had been lodged by the residents, nothing had changed.

The housewife, a wheelchair-bound person with disabilities, said the daily water rationing for about seven hours from 5pm until late at night had affected the housework and daily routine of the residents.
