BATU PAHAT: A bus transporting college students is among the 12 vehicles involved in a road accident at the Jalan Tan Swee Hoe–Jalan Kluang traffic light intersection.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said the incident involving a bus, two lorries, and nine cars occurred around 10.40am on Thursday (April 17).

“Initial investigation found that the bus, ferrying eight college students, was coming from the Batu Pahat town area and heading towards Jalan Kluang.

“The bus driver lost control of the vehicle due to faulty brakes, which then hit 11 other vehicles that were stopping at a traffic light intersection,” he said.

ACP Ismail added that the vehicles sustained damage due to the crash, but no one was seriously injured.

“Only two people suffered minor injuries. A 34-year-old female driver and a 46-year-old female passenger where both of them have been sent to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for medical treatment,” he said.

ACP Ismail added that the case was being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act for dangerous and reckless driving.
