Lahad Datu OCPD's teen daughter found dead from gunshot


KOTA KINABALU: The teen daughter of the Lahad Datu OCPD has been found dead from a gunshot.

The 14-year-old was found in a pool of blood in a room in their house at Taman Tabanak, Lahad Datu at 12.42pm on Tuesday (April 16).

Lahad Datu OCPD Asst Comm Dzulbaharin Ismail was at work when the incident occurred.

It is believed he had left his gun at home and his daughter was found holding the firearm.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the incident, adding that investigations are ongoing.

"The public is advised not to speculate on the matter," he said.

ACP Dzulbaharin was appointed as the Lahad Datu OCPD 16 days ago.
