It's murder, say cops on death of elderly man found at Seremban 2 car park

SEREMBAN: Police have classified the death of a 77-year-old man who was found in a semi-conscious state in a car park in Seremban 2 near here as murder.

District police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said police found the man sprawled on the road near Garden Homes at around 10pm on April 2 and sent him to the Tuanku Jaáfar Hospital for treatment.

"When we found him, he was still alive but he had difficulties talking.

"We did not find any bleeding or other visible injuries on him," he said in a statement.

ACP Mohamad said the man died on April 4 while still admitted at the hospital.

He said a post-mortem on his remains revealed that his death was caused after he was struck on the head with a blunt object.

The case, he said, was now being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer ASP Fauzan Azima at 019-791 8695 or the district police station at 06-603 3222 to assist in investigations.
