Two killed, eight injured in Gerik road crash


IPOH: Two people died and eight others were injured in a head-on collision involving two cars along the East-West Highway, near Banjaran Titiwangsa, Gerik.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon said a distress call was made at 12.23pm regarding the accident that occurred at KM65 of the highway.

She said when firemen arrived at the scene, the victims were already brought out of the vehicles by the public.

“The victims were brought to the Gerik hospital by ambulance.

From one of the cars, the married couple passed away, while a baby girl and two little boys were injured.

While in the other vehicle, one man and four women sustained injuries,” he added.
