Man, 26, dies after car crashes into tree in Johor


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 26-year-old man was killed after his car crashed into a tree at a roundabout in Jalan Puteri Harbour, Taman Iskandar Puteri, here.

Iskandar Puteri acting OCPD Supt Ibrahim Mat Som said the incident occurred at 2.24am on Sunday (April 7).

“The driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree planted at the roundabout.

“The victim suffered serious injuries to the head, right leg, and broken arm and was pronounced dead at the location,” he said in a statement.

The body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a postmortem.

Meanwhile, Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Ronnie Robert said that the body was brought out using rescue tools before being handed over to the police for further action.

“A total of 12 personnel were deployed to the scene in a fire rescue tender (FRT) and a rapid rescue vehicle (RRV),” he said, adding that the operation ended at 3.30am.
