Duo arrested over alleged bike theft in Ampang


AMPANG: Two men were detained for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Taman Keramat Permai here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a 60-year-old man parked his motorcycle near his home in Taman Keramat Permai at about 10pm on March 16.

"However, it went missing when he wanted to ride it the next day at 10am.

"He then lodged a police report," he said in a statement on Thursday (March 28).

An investigation led police to arrest two men aged 38 and 42, at Jalan Gombak Setia at about 7.30pm on March 21, he said.

"We seized several motorcycle parts, including two engines and two motorcycle frames along with an assortment of tools.

"One of the suspects had several prior criminal records," he said.
