Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Com Mohd Azam Ismail said the incident occurred at around 5.08pm on Sunday (March 24).

"We were alerted about the accident which involved a 4WD and a car.

"Investigations revealed that it was raining heavily at the time of the incident. The 4WD was manoeuvring around a corner when the car, which was travelling in the opposite direction, suddenly entered its path.

"The driver of the 4WD could not avoid the car and a crash occurred," he said in a statement Tuesday (March 26).

He said all the victims suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

"Checks revealed that one of the four people in the 4WD was Rantau Panjang MP Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff.

"They were on their way to Puchong for a buka puasa event before the collision occurred," he said, adding that they all were taken to the Ampang Hospital and were treated at the emergency room yellow zone.

In a Facebook post, Siti Zailah said they were ten minutes into their drive when the accident occurred.

"A car travelling in the opposite direction entered our lane. We could not avoid it and an accident occurred.

"An ambulance came about 20 minutes later and took us to the Ampang Hospital," she said, adding that her thigh still hurts from the accident, but her daughter suffered a fractured finger and leg.

She posted dashcam footage of the accident and said it was clear that the other car veered into their lane prior to the head-on collision.

She also posted a screen capture of the dashcam footage which shows that the car she was travelling in was only going at 38kmh at the time of the incident.
