Man killed after being punched by foreigner during argument


PETALING JAYA: A local man was killed after he was punched by a foreign man at an entertainment outlet in Sea Park because of a shoulder bump.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the incident occurred at about 1am on Saturday (March 23).

"The foreign man had bumped the shoulder of the victim, leading to an argument. The suspect punched the victim's face after an argument.

"The impact of the punch caused the victim to fall and hit his head. He died at the scene," he told a press conference at PJ police headquarters on Tuesday (March 26).

The suspect, in his 40s, has been remanded until March 29, he said.

"We also detained the victim's friend, who was also involved in the incident, to assist with the investigation. A post-mortem showed the victim died due to a severe head injury," he said.
