Duo arrested for cable theft in Kluang

KLUANG: Two men have been arrested by police for allegedly stealing cables at a village in Simpang Renggam here.

Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the suspects, siblings aged 27 and 29, are also believed to be involved in at least six other cable theft cases in Kluang.

He said they were arrested at home made at around 9.30pm on March 19 following a police report lodged by a man from Kampung Shaari, Simpang Renggam.

"The two suspects tested positive for methamphetamine. One of them has a criminal and narcotics record while the other also has a narcotics record," he said, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 431A of the Penal Code for committing mischief and could face a two-year jail term if convicted.
