PETALING JAYA: As of Friday, 5.02 million Malaysians have registered with the Central Database Hub and more counters are being opened in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur ahead of the March 31 deadline.
“As of March 15, at 11.59pm, the total number of individuals who updated their records was 5.02 million,” the post on Padu’s Facebook page read.
“It’s out of 30.08 million records in the Padu system based on the administrative data,” added the post.
This means that an estimated 16.7% of Malaysians and those holding PRs have registered and updated their information on the Padu system.
The 30.08 million include children whose parents or guardians are supposed to update their information, while the total number of adults who are to register is 21.97 million.
Selangor recorded the highest number of individuals with 760,000 registrations, followed by Sarawak (630,000) and Johor (500,000).

This is followed by Perak (460,000), Sabah (420,000), Kedah (350,000), Kelantan (330,000), Kuala Lumpur (320,000), and Pahang (280,000).
The Federal Government said Malaysians have been given until March 31 to register and update their details on the Padu website, so targeted subsidies could be distributed soon.
Those who do not update their records might be left behind.
For those who need help, Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said there is a helpline at 1-800-88-7720 to call.
“With 16 days left, we have our hotline and social media platforms ready to assist the public over any issues faced,” he said when contacted yesterday.
Admitting that there were a few issues, such as the e-KYC process upon registration, Mohd Uzir said the matter had been addressed.
“All forms of issues have been raised, and we are trying to improve from time to time,” he said. “But the success rate is almost 80% for e-KYC processes as the algorithm is getting better.”
Mohd Uzir said: “Since we have gathered the information from government agencies, that is the only data we have on you. It is better for the public to take the opportunity to update their profiles before the deadline,” he added.
On Feb 16, Mohd Uzir said the main focus for Padu was to ensure that Malaysians would not be left behind in any rakyat- oriented initiatives by the government while ensuring the implementation of holistic, targeted policies.
“We encourage people from the T20 category or any individuals who feel that they are not eligible for assistance to register and update their profile in Padu. The focus of the data hub is not solely on the aid element alone,” he said.
“It also covers the protection aspects, especially in disseminating important information during disasters or epidemics,” Mohd Uzir told The Star.
Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said Putrajaya can extend the deadline, but this would mean that needy groups would receive the government’s aid later.
Rafizi is expected to hold a press conference on Padu next week.
In Selangor, counters will be open in Aeon Rawang, Wangsa Permai, Desa Satu, Gombak, Econsave Pandamaran, Dewan Serbaguna Blok Mawar, and Cempaka, as well as Bandar Baru Klang in Klang.
Aside from that, counters will be open in Nadi Felda Bukit Cherakah, Nadi Taman Saujana Utama, Nadi Pekan Ijok in Kuala Selangor.
There will also be counters in Dewan Serbaguna Apartment Nuri Bukit Mahkota, KTM Kajang, Surau Ar-Ridhuan Apartment Seri Cempaka, and Seksyen 16, Bandar Baru Bangi in Ulu Langat.
In Kuala Lumpur, a counter will be open at the Bandar Tasik Selatan low-cost flat multipurpose hall this weekend, Federal Territories DOSM shared in a Facebook post, but this is not listed on the Padu website.
Accordingly, those who have yet to register and update their data are requested to do so either at https://www.padu.gov.my or at a nearby Padu counter.
