Couple busted for having syabu


SEREMBAN: Police seized 5.2kg of syabu from a couple, believed to be members of a syndicate, in Nilai. State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the duo, who are in their early 40s, were detained at 1.50am on Monday.

He said the seized drugs, concealed in five packets, could be used by 10,450 syabu addicts, and police believe the drugs were meant for the Klang Valley market.DCP Ahmad Dzaffir said the male suspect’s urine tested positive for meth. He also has a record of four drug-related offences and two criminal cases.

Police have obtained a court order to remand the duo for seven days to assist in investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
