Teen electrocuted after stepping on live wires in Sandakan


KOTA KINABALU: A teenager was killed after he was believed to have stepped on some live wires in Sandakan district.

Ridzsfar Jafar, 18, was found unconscious under a wooden stilt house at Kg Datu Pangeran Batu 7 Sandakan on Monday (March 11) morning.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Hamsa Isnurdini said they received a call to help carry out a body at 11.06am.

“Our team used a stretcher to get the body out before handing it over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement.

He said operations ceased at 11.59am after no safety hazards were detected on site.

Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Fuad Malek said investigations are ongoing.
