Cops nab Nepalese man for trespassing into Ampang Hilir homestay


AMPANG: A Nepalese man was detained for attempting to trespass into a homestay at Kampung Perwira Jaya Ampang Hilir here.

The homestay owner was informed by his uncle after he saw a man trying to enter the premises at about 1pm on Friday (Feb 23).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the owner went to the homestay at about 3pm and discovered the man was in the living room.

"He contacted the police for assistance.

"Police personnel were dispatched to the scene and detained the suspect, who is a Nepalese national, at about 3.05pm," he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 24).

The suspect failed to show any identification documents, he said.

"He also tested negative for drugs.

"He has been remanded until Tuesday (Feb 27) for further investigation," he said.

The case is investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for having no valid permit.
