PETALING JAYA: Sammi Cheng encountered yet another unfortunate incident since the start of 2024, with the latest involving her mistaking her cleanser for makeup remover, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 51-year-old Hong Kong superstar posted a photo of her bloodshot eye on social media, attributing it to her carelessness.

Cheng said she had used the cleanser to remove eye makeup and accidentally squirted some of it into her left eye.

“The two bottles looked alike and were placed side by side. It was my carelessness (that had caused the incident).

“Here’s a public service announcement to everyone to be more careful,” she wrote.

Cheng tried flushing out the cleanser using tap water. Her eye recovered the next day. A while back, the singer-actress had to cut short her trip to Hokkaido, flying back after just one day there upon receiving news that her mother was hospitalised.
