12 undocumented migrants held in factory raid


BUKIT MERTAJAM: The Penang Immigration Department detained 12 undocumented migrants, including seven women, during a raid at a uniform factory in Taman Industri Impian Alma here on Monday (Feb 19).

Department director Nur Zulfa Ibrahim said in the two-hour operation beginning 10.30am, a total of 130 people, aged between 20 and 40, from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia and China were inspected.

The migrants were picked up for overstaying in the country and not having any identification document.

They were sent to the Penang Immigration office in Seberang Jaya for further action.- Bernama
