Melaka student, 15, dies in motorcycle-car collision


ALOR GAJAH: A 15-year-old student has died in an accident while sending his two younger siblings to school by motorcycle.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said Mohamad Iqmal Daniel Iskandar died on the spot in the 7.40am Thursday (Feb 1) accident at Jalan Telok Gong, Pengkalan Balak here.

He said the victim's 12-year-old sister and 10-year-old brother sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Supt Arshad said the victim's motorcycle collided with the rear of a car driven by a 65-year-old pensioner, who was making a turn.

"The impact caused the victim to sustain severe injuries," he said.

Supt Arshad added that the accident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
