More Perikatan MPs will support unity govt, says Anwar

IPOH: More Perikatan Nasional MPs will abandon the coalition due to their failed promises to topple the unity government, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said Perikatan had tried to oust the government but was unsuccessful, causing their hopes to be chipped away.

"I believe more MPs from Perikatan will lose confidence due to false promises.

"One by one, they will leave the coalition," he said in his closing speech at the Perak Unity Government Convention at Casuarina@Meru Convention Centre here on Sunday (Jan 28).

Anwar said his Cabinet has never thought of Perikatan's attempt to topple them as an issue.

"I was confident that it was not a problem.

"It was just a perception played up by the Opposition," he said, adding that the Opposition had even tried to stir up racial sentiments but the unity government was not deterred by it.
