Missing angler found drowned near Chenderoh Dam


IPOH: The body of a 30-year-old man, who went missing after his boat sank at the Chenderoh Dam in Sauk, has been found.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon said the victim, identified as Muhammad Khairul Rusydan, was found by rescue personnel at 8.37am on Sunday (Jan 21).

Sayani said the victim was found about 500m from the department's control centre at the location.

"The body has been handed over to the police for the next course of action," she said in a statement.

It was reported that the victim and a 41-year-old man had been fishing at the dam before their boat sank during a storm on Friday (Jan 19).

The victim's friend tried to rescue him but failed.

The friend was rescued by others who were fishing in the area.
