Pahang Regent arrives in Kuching for five-day visit

KUCHING: Pahang Regent Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has arrived in Sarawak for a five-day visit.

He was welcomed by state Deputy Energy and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni upon his arrival at Kuching International Airport at about 2.50pm on Monday (Jan 15).

Also present to greet the Regent were Deputy State Secretary Datuk Buckland Bangik and other officials.

During his time in the state capital, Tengku Hassanal is scheduled to visit Petroleum Sarawak Bhd, Sarawak Energy Bhd and an algae nursery.

He will also attend a state dinner on Tuesday (Jan 16).

Tengku Hassanal, who made an impression on Sarawakians during the Kembara Kenali Borneo royal tour last year, announced on social media last Friday (Jan 12) that he would visit the state from Jan 15 to 19.

"Dear Sarawakians, I am on the way," he wrote in an Instagram story which received over 200,000 likes and thousands of comments.

Confirming the visit, Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said Tengku Hassanal was part of a delegation from Pahang to learn about renewable energy from Sarawak.
