DUE to her unusual name, a woman from Tuaran, Sabah, is used to having to whisk out her identity card almost every time she meets people for the first time.
According to Harian Metro, Baby Girl Ariffin was named so by her aunt and she usually has to clarify that it is her actual name and a nickname.
“Many people don’t believe me. They think it’s a glamorous name that I took on, when in fact that’s the name that appears on my MyKad,” said Baby Girl who lives in Taman Telipok Ria, Tuaran.
She asked her aunt why she gave her this name and was told that she wasn’t sure what name to choose and only had ‘Baby Girl’ in mind.
“I have five siblings and I’m the only one with such an unusual name,” the 37-year-old said.
The story of Baby Girl who sells breakfast went viral after a Facebook user Nina Othman shared it on her page.
According to Baby Girl, she had never been mocked for her name, but people are usually shocked when they learn about it.
“This usually happens when I write my name down for registration or official purposes like when I go to a hospital. They believe me only after I show them my MyKad,” she said.
Despite having to verify her name countless times, Baby Girl said she has no plans to change it.
“I’m okay with this name and my husband is too. He calls me Baby. My nephews and nieces, or those younger than me call me ‘Aunty Baby’ or ‘Kakak Baby’,” she smiled.

Despite being bombarded with questions regarding her divorce, Adira said she would not reveal what had happened and prefers to remain silent on the matter.
“I don’t try to find out what others are saying about me or about what happened.
“My focus is on my children and our daily routine, which is why I don’t have time to look at other people’s comments.
“My children are still young. Even if I wanted to share anything with them, they wouldn’t understand. God willing, they will understand eventually,” she said, Berita Harian reported.
Adira’s divorce from her husband Datuk Seri Adnan Abu, also known as Datuk Red, was first reported four years ago but the issue became a hot topic once again last year after she was seen at the Gombak Barat Syariah Lower Court.
On April 1, 2019, Adira filed for divorce for the first time. She filed for divorce again on Oct 25 last year, but it failed as her husband did not appear for the proceeding.
Adira married Adnan in Songkhla, Thailand, in 2015, as his second wife.
