Opposition incapable of mustering support for no-confidence motion, says Anwar

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Opposition is unable to muster support for a vote of no confidence in Parliament, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The PKR president added that it had been a year since the formation of the unity government.

"We have been waiting but there is nothing.

"I don't think it has the strength to bring this motion in Parliament," he said after meeting Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) management and workers here on Thursday (Jan 11).

He added that such talk could just be Opposition propaganda so its supporters will not lose faith in the leadership.

He added that if the Opposition could not bring about a change in government, it should not be dispirited but shift its focus and work for the people instead.

Anwar also said the "Dubai Move" was nothing but a desperate ploy by those losing support.

"I have advised my Cabinet ministers, leadership and even the government as a whole that the focus should be on national development.

"The government's focus for this year is to develop our country and strengthen the economy," he said.
