Cops seek lorry driver over motorcyclist's death in Nilai


NILAI: Police are looking for a lorry driver who allegedly caused the death of a motorcyclist near Taman Semarak here.

Nilai OCPD Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the 47-year-old motorcyclist was killed on the spot in the 6am accident along Jalan Pajam-Nilai-Salak on Thursday (Jan 4).

"The driver of the tipper lorry, believed to be a Sabahan, has yet to file a report on the fatal accident," he said on Friday (Jan 5).

According to Supt Abdul Malik, the lorry hit the victim's motorcycle from behind.

He said the case was being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

He urged anyone who witnessed the accident to contact investigating officer Insp Rosliza Mohd Ludin at 010-455 4359.
