Discounts at selected Melaka tourist spots all year round to woo visitors


MELAKA: Tourists can enjoy discounts of up to 55% at 28 popular attractions from Monday (Jan 1) in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the discounts are aimed at attracting visitors to the state and providing them with the best possible holiday experience.

The discounts will be extended in the form of a voucher that is valid until Dec 31, he added while launching Visit Melaka Year and the state New Year celebrations at Pengkalan Rama here on Sunday (Dec 31) night.

The accompanying New Year fireworks display was visible from various locations in the city as the clock struck midnight.

Shah Beach Resort general manager Dennis Samford said he was surprised by the dazzling display lighting up the city.

"I could see fireworks everywhere when I was on the way back from my hotel at about midnight.

"There was also traffic congestion everywhere with revellers on the streets celebrating the New Year," he added.
