Sarawak recorded RM8.7bil from tourism this year, says state minister

SIBU: Sarawak received RM8.7bil from tourism thus far this year, says Datuk Snowdan Lawan.

The state's Deputy Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister said this came from tourists visiting Sarawak.

He added that this shows how important tourism is to Sarawak.

"One of the ministries that contributes a rather big part of Sarawak's revenue is the Tourism Ministry. This is because when tourists come to visit Sarawak, the spillover is there,” he said.

He added that Sarawak targets four million tourist arrivals this year.
